This summer Sienna Miller and her co-star Jack O’Connell will appear in the new Young Vic’s adaptation of the famous Tennessee Williams’ play “Cat on a hot tin roof” directed by Benedict Andrews. In 2014 Andrews presented “Streetcar named Desire” starring Gillian Andersen, a sold-out hit that was shortly transferred to New York in 2016.
Miller’s last work was the West End appearance in the Flare Path play at Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2011. Her work sparked off very polar reviews, as some critics found her appearance glamorous but her portrayal of the character lacking depth. Jack O’Connell is well-known for his parts in many Hollywood movies (“Financial Monster”,”300″ and more) received the BAFTA Rising Star Award for his role in Angelina Jolie’s film Unbroken in 2014. O’Connell appeared in the Sheffield Theatre’s play The Nap last year.
The production will run from July 13 to October 7, with press night on July 24.
